We play good old fashioned heavy stuff and the only metal band paying homage to the big man at the top of the steeple himself Fred Dibnah. We write slow, thundering songs about traction engines, mines and steam machines. We have played many shows across the North West and have honed our craft. We played a few years ago before the dark times and had a great time and wish to bring the same joy to the music fans of Bury.

The Human Condition          19.25

Picture
The Human Condition is a 5 piece epic, progressive doom metal band from the North West of England. Their songs represent a perfect blend of heavy riffs, raw emotion and soaring melodies. Their members span multiple generations of talented musicians who each bring their own unique perspectives to the creative process, lead by drummer and lead songwriter, Jonathon Gibbs (ex-The River, ex-Unsilence).  Now in their 13th year, the band is getting ready to record their second album, following the success of their 2016 debut, Pathways, released by Spain's Topillo Records. They are also due to enter the studio in late March 2022 to record a single, due to form part of a split release with some fellow doom stalwarts. They have played shows with the likes of Nomad, Dark Forest, Witch Tripper, Mael Mordha and doom legends, Solstice. They also played their first international gig in 2019 at the Seeds of Doom festival in Salzburg, Austria.

Aurora Project 20.25pm   Headliner

Picture
Aurora-Project are a 5-piece Manchester rock metal band with influences ranging from classical and folk to shoegaze and electro darkwave. Formed in 2006, and recently refreshed by new addition of frontwoman Rachel, Aurora-Project features Jim on guitar, Rob on mandolin and viola, Gaz on bass and Si on drums.
All five are experienced musicians, involved in a variety of cross-genre musical projects and bands. Each member bringing their own very different influences – making Aurora-Project’s sound a pretty unique and exciting listen.
This is a band unafraid to experiment with different rhythms, key, tonality and scale. Driven by heavy guitar, drums and bass, listeners can expect all the pace of heavy rock and metal, decorated by Rob’s classical/folk-influenced mandolin and viola. All set to thoughtful lyrics and a rich melodic vocal-style, parts PJ Harvey, parts Kate Bush – all Rachel.
