We would like to invite you to become a part of our not-for-profit festival. Glaston-Bury is a one-day music festival, held every August Bank Holiday in venues in Bury town centre to raise money for Bury Hospice. We are proud to say that in thirteen years of staging the event, we have now raised over £150,000 in donations. Entry to venues is for wristband holders only so basically we provide the bands, equipment and the customers for you in return for an agreed percentage of your takings on the day which is added to the donation. Glaston-Bury now attracts thousands of visitors and plays host to over 150 local bands ranging from respected Tribute and Cover bands through to talented unsigned bands playing original music. Last year, over 500 bands applied to play. This year we hope to be able to add another outdoor stage and a Family Cultural Area which will showcase a variety of World Music and cultural entertainment as well as children’s activities. The new additions will run alongside the three existing outdoor stages and the involvement from town centre bars and cafes like yours who of course benefit from the huge footfall the event receives 8 |
